Proxies for e-commerce data

Lowest rate for each. Every tier is on the pricing page.

Why e-commerce data needs proxies

Online stores are built for shoppers, one page at a time. Collecting a catalog is a different kind of visit, and stores notice.

Marketplaces block automated visitors

The big marketplaces run some of the strictest bot protection on the web. Residential IPs are treated as shoppers, where server IPs are challenged or refused.

Every country has its own storefront

The catalog, the sellers, the delivery options and the search ranking all change by country, and often by city. Exit where the shoppers are.

Catalogs are huge

A full category is hundreds of thousands of product pages. At that size the per-GB rate decides the cost, so start with the cheapest proxy type that gets through.

Which proxy for which e-commerce job

Most stores open up to ordinary residential IPs. Keep the premium pool for the few that do not.

Collect product pages from a local storefront

Leave the session out and every request exits from a new IP, so a retry after a block is automatically a different visitor. The example uses the Eternal Residential format.

  • _country-US Two-letter country code of the storefront
  • _region- Region or state
  • _city- City
  • _session-cart9 Hold one IP when you need the cart or delivery options
  • _lifetime-10 Minutes to hold the IP, up to 60

Python: rotate on every request and retry when blocked

import requests

proxy = "http://USERNAME:[email protected]:1000"

def get(url, tries=3):
    for _ in range(tries):
        r = requests.get(url, proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30)
        if r.status_code not in (403, 429):
            break # a retry exits from a new IP
    return r

for pid in ["B001", "B002", "B003"]:
    r = get(f"https://example.com/product/{pid}")
    print(pid, r.status_code, len(r.text))

E-commerce proxy questions

What are e-commerce proxies used for?

Collecting product and catalog data, reviews and ratings, search rankings, stock levels and seller information from online stores and marketplaces. For prices specifically, see price monitoring proxies. For counterfeits and unauthorised sellers, see brand protection proxies.

Which proxy is best for marketplace data?

Budget Residential for collection at volume, and Premium Residential for the marketplaces that block it. Use Datacenter proxies for stores and feeds that accept server IPs.

Can I see the storefront for a specific country or city?

Yes. Our residential, mobile and datacenter proxies support country, region and city targeting, so you collect the catalog, ranking and delivery options a local shopper is shown.

What happens when a request is blocked?

With rotating IPs, a retry leaves from a different address, which is often enough to clear a block. If a store blocks ordinary residential IPs consistently, move that store to Premium Residential.

How much bandwidth does catalog collection use?

Multiply the page size by the number of pages. As an example, one million product pages at 300 KB each is about 300 GB, which fits inside the 500 GB Budget Residential plan at $265. Skipping images cuts that sharply.

Is this allowed on VantixProxy?

Collecting publicly available product information is a normal use of our proxies. Overloading a store, attacks, payment fraud and anything illegal are not. Every customer agrees to our Acceptable Use Policy, so VantixProxy is not responsible for its users’ actions.

Proxies for each marketplace

Every marketplace protects itself differently. Each guide covers what it checks, which proxy fits and how to set it up.
