What Instagram checks when an account logs in
Instagram is built for phones. It compares every login with the account’s usual device, network and location, and three things trip it most often.
Server IPs look like bots
Instagram expects phones on mobile networks and home Wi-Fi. A login from a datacenter range is the quickest way to a security check or a blocked action.
Accounts on one IP get linked
Five client accounts on one office connection look like one operator. If Instagram restricts one of them, the others are reviewed with it.
New locations bring checks
A login from a new city or country often means a code by SMS or email. Keep each account on an IP in its home location.
Which proxy for which Instagram job
Most Instagram work is account management, which needs stable IPs. Collecting public data is the exception.
| Instagram job | Proxy type | Why | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Running accounts in the Instagram app, on phones or cloud phones | Mobile | Real 4G/5G carrier IPs, the network Instagram sees most. Sticky sessions from 1 to 60 minutes. | $4.40/GB |
| One fixed IP per client account, for months | Static Residential | A dedicated residential IP that never changes, with unmetered bandwidth. Suits scheduling tools and anti-detect profiles. | $1.49/IP |
| Web logins from many browser profiles | Premium Residential | Our highest-trust residential pool, with city targeting to match each account’s home. | $5.16/GB |
| Collecting public profiles, posts and hashtags | Budget Residential | Rotating residential IPs at our lowest per-GB rate, with a new IP on every request. | $0.49/GB |
Set up Instagram accounts on separate IPs
Give each account its own phone or browser profile, and its own proxy. For web logins, anti-detect browsers such as AdsPower and GoLogin keep cookies and fingerprints apart. The setup guides cover more tools.
- One IP each Never share a proxy between two accounts
- Home location Target the account’s own country or city
- Keep the IP A static IP, or one sticky session per visit
- Own profile Separate cookies and fingerprint per account

Instagram proxy questions
Which proxy is best for Instagram?
Mobile proxies for accounts you run in the Instagram app, because they use real carrier IPs. Static Residential when each account should keep one fixed IP for months. Premium Residential for web logins from many browser profiles.
How many Instagram accounts can share one proxy?
One. Accounts on the same IP are easy for Instagram to link, so a restriction on one can reach the others. Give every account its own IP and its own phone or browser profile.
Why does Instagram ask me to verify my login?
It compares each login with the account’s usual location and network. Use an IP in the account’s home country or city, keep that IP for the whole session, and avoid server IPs, which are the most likely to trigger a check.
Can I target a specific city?
Yes. Mobile, Premium Residential and our other rotating residential products support country, region and city targeting. Static Residential is available in the US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Italy, Poland and China.
Do these proxies work with anti-detect browsers and scheduling tools?
Yes. Mobile, Static Residential and Premium Residential speak HTTP and SOCKS5 with a username and password, which AdsPower, GoLogin and most scheduling tools accept.
Is running Instagram accounts through proxies allowed?
Managing accounts you own or are authorised to manage is a normal use of our proxies. Every customer agrees to our Acceptable Use Policy, so VantixProxy is not responsible for its users’ actions. Instagram’s own rules remain your responsibility.
