Android proxy setup
Android can send Wi-Fi traffic through a proxy from the network settings. It has no field for a username and password, so you either whitelist your connection’s IP or use a proxy app.

Before you start
Three things to have ready.
Host and port
et.vantixproxy.com and 1000 for Eternal Residential. Copy them from the generator in your dashboard.
Your public IP
Open our What is my IP tool on the phone, on the Wi-Fi you will use. That is the IP to whitelist.
Wi-Fi only
The setting belongs to one Wi-Fi network. Mobile data does not use it.
Step 1: Whitelist your IP, then set the proxy
Add the IP from What is my IP to the IP whitelist in your dashboard, so the proxy accepts the phone without a login. Then add the host and port to the Wi-Fi network. Menu names differ a little between phone makers.

Use a proxy app that supports a username and password. Such apps use Android’s VPN feature to send all traffic, on Wi-Fi and mobile data, through the proxy. Cloud phone services take the same details.

Why is there no username and password field?
Android’s Wi-Fi proxy setting only takes a host and port. Whitelist your IP in the dashboard, or use a proxy app that supports logins.
Does the proxy work on mobile data?
Not with the Wi-Fi setting. A proxy app that uses Android’s VPN feature covers mobile data too.
Why do some apps ignore the proxy?
Apps can connect directly and ignore Android’s proxy setting. A proxy app that routes all traffic covers them.
My whitelisted IP changed. What now?
Home and mobile connections sometimes get a new IP. Check What is my IP again and update the whitelist.
How do I turn it off?
Set Proxy back to None in the Wi-Fi network’s settings.
Which proxy is best on a phone?
Mobile proxies for apps that expect carrier IPs. Eternal Residential for general browsing. Static Residential when an account should keep one IP.
