Before you start
Three things to have ready.
Your proxy line
Copy the host, port, username and password from your dashboard. The examples use a Static Residential IP: static.vantixproxy.com, port 1006.
SOCKS5
Use SOCKS5 in Telegram. Every product speaks it except Eternal Residential Lite, which is HTTP only.
One IP per account
For several accounts, give each its own Static Residential IP. The Telegram proxies page explains why.
Telegram Desktop
Open the connection settings, add a SOCKS5 proxy with your login, and Telegram reconnects through it straight away.

- Check Settings > Devices shows the IP location
- Switch off Connection type > Default

The mobile apps have the same option under Data and Storage. Once added, the proxy stays on until you turn it off.

Telegram opens proxy links directly. Send the link to yourself, tap it on each device, and Telegram offers to add the proxy. The link contains your password, so keep it private.

Both libraries take the SOCKS5 details as the client’s proxy. Keep one IP per session file, so each account always connects from the same address.

SOCKS5 or HTTP in Telegram?
SOCKS5. Telegram accepts both, but SOCKS5 is the usual choice and works with every product except Eternal Residential Lite.
Can I use MTProto proxies from VantixProxy?
No. We provide HTTP and SOCKS5, and Telegram’s SOCKS5 option works with them directly.
Why does Telegram stay on Connecting?
Check the host, port and login, and that SOCKS5 is selected. If you use Eternal Residential Lite, switch to another product, because Lite has no SOCKS5.
How do I know Telegram is using the proxy?
Open Settings > Devices. The current session shows the location of the proxy’s IP, not yours.
Is a proxy link safe to share?
Only with yourself. Anyone with the link can use your proxy and your bandwidth.
Which proxy is best for Telegram?
Static Residential for accounts, one IP each. Mobile proxies for accounts used on phones. Budget Residential for reading public channels.
